Charleston, S.C. (June 12, 2024) — The Charleston Battery and Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) will celebrate World Refugee Night with a home game at Patriots Point on Friday, June 28, 2024. The Battery will kick off against North Carolina Football Club at 7:30 p.m. at the Patriots Point Soccer Stadium located minutes from downtown Charleston, at 85 Patriots Point Road off the Ravenel Bridge in Mount Pleasant.
“We are so excited to partner with the Battery for World Refugee Night,” said Bedrija Jazic, South Carolina regional director for LSC’s New Americans Program. “LSC has helped 155 newly arrived refugees and other legal immigrants resettle in the Charleston area so far this year. Many Americans have ancestors who fled war or persecution to start a new life here. Soccer is a language everyone understands, and World Refugee Night is a chance to celebrate our freedom.”
During the game, fans will enjoy over 10 food trucks, free children’s activities, and a special halftime presentation. The Battery is currently the second-ranked United Soccer League team in the nation. Tickets start at $10. To purchase, visit https://bit.ly/4bMblfU.
