LSC teams up with Myrtle Beach Area Chamber to connect refugees with local employers, services

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is teaming up with Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) to host an information session about the New Americans Program coming to the Grand Strand.

LSC’s New Americans Program welcomes refugees to the U.S. and helps them transition into a new life and culture. The program is being initiated in the Myrtle Beach area for the first time this year with plans to resettle refugees from Ukraine and other countries to the region.

“This info session will provide the chance for our community to learn about the New Americans Program and the Ukrainian families who will be coming here to build new lives. We look forward to their arrival and connecting them to our business community, job opportunities, nonprofits and services,” said Karen Riordan, MBACC President and CEO.

The New Americans Program Info Session will take place on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the chamber’s boardroom located at 1200 N. Oak St. in Myrtle Beach.

Participation is free and open to representatives of any business or organization who would like to know more about the program. Space is limited and advance register is required. To attend, visit the events section of MyrtleBeachAreaChamber.com.
