Salisbury, N.C. — Lutheran Services Carolinas’ Trinity Living Center invites the community to “BBQs, Brews, and Alzheimer’s News” on Thursday, April 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Rowan-Cabarrus. Join us for a free evening of barbecue from The Smoke Pit, wine by Douglas Vineyards, helpful Alzheimer’s disease resources, and an exciting first look at the Fall 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s! The fun takes place at Trinity Living Center, 1416 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue South, in Salisbury.
“Nearly 6 million people across the United States, including more than 210,000 North Carolinians, are currently living with Alzheimer’s – and it affects their friends and family too,” said Nathaniel Morefield, Alzheimer’s Association walk manager for the Rowan-Cabarrus, Surry, and Guilford regions. “The good news is you don’t have to go through it alone,” he added. “The Alzheimer’s Association is here to provide support and work toward a cure, and we are grateful to do so alongside organizations like Trinity Living Center.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with the Alzheimer’s Association on this program,” noted Beth Huber, executive director of Trinity Living Center, a community-based adult day service that helps end social isolation due to changes in health, resources, or mobility while providing caregiver support and respite. “Many of our participants at Trinity Living Center have been impacted by Alzheimer’s, and we are always looking for ways to improve their and their families’ lives.”
